After nearly 40 years, the legendary armor moves once again—
A full-fledged sequel to the classic 1988 anime Yoroiden Samurai Troopers has been officially announced!
The brand-new TV anime, titled ‘Yoroshinden Samurai Troopers’, will premiere in January 2026.
Set in modern-day Shinjuku.
This new series features an original story, where a new generation of warriors inherits the spirit of the legendary Samurai Troopers.

Main character Gai is a 14-year-old "Blazing Samurai"
The story follows Gai, a 14-year-old boy with a unique sense of taste and an eccentric personality.
He dons the "Blazing Armor" to face off against invading demonic forces.
Gai is voiced by Hiyori Ishibashi, known for playing Miguel in the Japanese dub of Disney/Pixar’s Coco.
Introduction
When the seal of the demonic realm is broken, legions of yokai begin their invasion.
In humanity’s darkest hour, five young samurai rise to defend the world.
Their name—Samurai Troopers.
And thus, a new chapter of battle begins!

BANDAI SPIRITS has announced a plastic model release (image in development).
Judging by the silhouette, it’s Gai—
and it looks like it’ll have an impressive range of articulation.

Even if you’ve never seen the original 1980s anime, jumping into this Reiwa-era reboot is more than welcome.
As a personal note: back when I was a kid, I once faxed a homemade manga to my grandma’s house—
