"If Evangelion actually existed, what would its engineering look like?" — that question, taken dead seriously, is the starting point of this figure. It's Evangelion Unit-01 from CARBOTIX, the diecast alloy action figure line by Blitzway.
Priced at 36,300 yen (tax incl.) and scheduled for March 2027, preorders are open now. This is an Eva built to be posed and played with, not just displayed.
A Redesign Built on "What If It Were Real"

The CARBOTIX take on Unit-01 keeps the silhouette you know while reworking the details around functions a real humanoid weapon would need — armor panel lines, joint structures, cable details. It fills anime's beautiful lies with engineering logic.
It stands about 330mm tall (roughly 360mm on the launch platform base). The diecast alloy body weighs in at 460g — pick it up and it has the heft of actual hardware.
Ratchet Joints That Nail the Iconic Stances

The heart of this figure is its articulation: ratchet-mechanism joints and multiple linked gimmicks enable the organic, creature-like posing that defines Evangelion.

That signature low forward-leaning crouch locks in solidly despite the alloy weight. Put the Progressive Knife in its hand and you'll hear the alarm sirens in your head.
Rather than piling on more words, the official short videos show exactly how far the articulation and gimmicks go. By the end you'll be looking for the preorder button.

The LED Switch Is an Entry Plug
The single coolest trick on this figure: the built-in LEDs are toggled with the included entry-plug-shaped magnetic stick.
In other words, the startup sequence is plug insertion. "Board" the Eva, and Unit-01's eyes light up. Whoever designed this feature clearly grew up on Evangelion.
You can see the glow in the official short below.

RAW JAPAN's Takeaway
There are countless Eva figures out there, but CARBOTIX's answer is to go all-in on the experience: the heft of diecast metal and an LED you fire up via entry plug. March 2027 is a long wait — but every Eva fan knows the truth: the Unit-01s that keep you waiting are the ones that go berserk hardest.
