Every August, Baskin-Robbins Japan gets completely taken over by Pokémon. The annual "31 Poké Summer" campaign is back for 2026, running August 1–31 — and this year hits different.
2026 marks the 30th anniversary of Pokémon Red & Green, so the Kanto starters — Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle — plus partner Pokémon from every generation are all over the menu. Quick tip for travelers: in Japan, Baskin-Robbins is called "Thirty-One" (Sāti-wan), so that's what to type into Google Maps.
The New Flavor: Pikachu's Volt Tackle, an Electric Attack You Can Taste
The star of the lineup is the new flavor "Pikachu's Volt Tackle Pineapple Squash" (single regular scoop, 420 yen).
Yellow pineapple sorbet swirled with soda-flavored sorbet, loaded with red popping candy that literally crackles in your mouth like an electric attack. And because this is Baskin-Robbins' "31", the popping candy has been increased by exactly 31%. Respect the commitment to the bit.

A Poké Ball Sundae and a Drinkable Ditto
The "Monster Ball Sundae" (820 yen) stacks ice cream, a big Pikachu chocolate and a random starter-Pokémon pick inside a Poké Ball-shaped cup — which you get to keep afterward.
Personal MVP though: the "Ditto Crash Soda" (760 yen). Red and blue syrups swirl together and transform into purple — Ditto's whole thing, turned into a drink.
Double Cups Featuring All 9 Regions + 30 Random Stickers
The "Pokémon Double Cup" (510–760 yen) comes wrapped in art of partner Pokémon from all nine regions, and every purchase includes one random special sticker.
There are 30 sticker designs, and each Pokémon is paired with an actual Baskin-Robbins flavor. Mew's flavor? "Love Potion #31." Well played.
Taking It Home: Variety Boxes and the Summer Special Set
For the take-home crowd there are "Pokémon Variety Boxes" in 4, 6, 8 and 12-flavor sizes — each with different package art, which feels like a deliberate trap for collectors.
The "Summer Special Set" (3,520–4,100 yen) packs nine ice creams into a Poké Ball-shaped box, plus two stainless-steel Pikachu & Eevee spoons that are honestly nice enough for everyday use.
They Turned Pikachu's Entire Face into a Cake
The finishing move: the "Ice Cream Cake Pikachu" (3,800 yen) — Pikachu's face as a full ice cream cake, party hat included. If your birthday lands in August, the decision has been made for you.
